We decided to drop just about our entire teaching pool, mainly because people weren't progressing. Not progressing is a huge thing here - everyone is so nice and they have faith - but no works. So our goal has been to increase our teaching pool. In order to do this we've started exploring more of the area and yesterday we found a POOL! My companion thought I was crazy but we found this hidden neighborhood which is way nicer then the rest of the area - and it has a pool which is the craziest thing. My comp and I heard the splash and looked at each other. Completely shocked and excited - as if the pool changed anything we're able to do, hahaha.
Last week my companion was diagnosed with dengue fever, which is a disease carried by mosquitos. I'm lucky to have avoided it somehow, seeing that I'm with her 24/7. The crazier thing is that I'm not as diligent as her about wearing bug spray. Rest assured that's no longer the case. We both wear bug spray now.
We have a new investigator named Louisa and she's pretty awesome. We've only taught lesson 1 but she said if she learns the message is true she'll be baptized. Hopefully she prays - because then we'll have a baptism ;)
Spiritual thought: If you had one wish what would it be? Answer this honestly.
I've always tried cheating the system and answering a million other wishes.... I mention this because I recognized the apostles were given one wish in 3 Nephi Ch 28, and they all wished for salvation. My next question to myself, and now to you, is why wasn't that our wish? Why isn't that our highest prioritized goal? Then I read D&C 29:6 which says what you ask in faith through prayer you will receive. So now every once in a while I'll mention salvation in my prayers! It's crazy but even though it too maybe cheating the system, at least it keeps salvation in my mind. My challenge for you all is to seek salvation! Make your home a heaven on earth.
Love and miss you all!
